Calendar with Verses - 1900
Condition. The book is in Good condition. Light toning and edge scrapes on the covers. Top stab tie trimed and broken. Bottom stab tie strong but trimmed down. No markings or stains internally. No tears or breaks to the folded edges.

Japanese Calendar with Verses, (Calendar for 1900 in book format), Meiji 31 (1898), Tokyo (10 Hiyoshicho, Tokyo), T. Hasegawa, carries the Hiyoshicho, Tokyo address inside the front cover in English and in the colophon on the back cover, small size for a Hasegawa/Kobunsha book, small 18mo (4 x 6 in - 10 x 15 cm), crepe paper in folded sheets, spine covered, silk stab ties, 14 folded pages (including covers), 28 pages total. A calendar with identical text and illustrations but for 1901 was published this same year. The 1901 calendar is reported with the Breitkopf & Hartel imprint in the upper right corner of the front cover and and another with the Brentano's imprint (see below).
The subjects of the woodblocks are:

- 2. (February) - "The Feast of Inari."
- 3. (March) - "The Feast of Dolls."
- 4. (April) - "Cherry Blossom at Mukojima."
- 5. (May) - "The Feast of Boys."
- 6. (June) - "The Iris of Horikiri."
- 7. (July) - "The Feast of Lanterns."
- 8. (August) - "Summer in Kyoto."
- 9. (September) - "The Feast of Chrysanthemum."
- 10. (October) - "The Feast of Ebisu."
- 11. (November) - "Autumn at Momiji-yama."
- 12. (December) - "TPreparing for the New Year."
