Condition. The book is in Very Good condition. There are minor creases to the covers and some of the internal pages. The book is clean and free of staining, foxing or markings. None of the folded pages or cut or broken at the folded edge.

The title on the first page of text reads Dumplings whereas the title on the cover is Dumpling. One book listed (Chin-Chin Kobakama) was published the year after this book was first published. The front cover and back covers are nicely illustrated in color.

Various printings (state) of this book have been reported. However, they have not been definitively placed in chronological sequence. They all probably carry the original dates of printing (Meiji 35 (1902), May 5) and publication (Meiji 35 (1902), June 1) which is not unusual in Hasegawa books. One printing does not contain the publisher's list of books. The book presented on this page contains the publisher's list which includes (Chin-Chin Kobakama) and that book was first published in 1903. In the Japanese language colophon, the book illustrated below also lists 38 Honmura-cho as the address. That address was used by T. Hasegawa between 1902 and 1911. The book has been reported with the earlier (1901-2) 20 Honzaimoko-cho address.
