There is one finely colored large multi-fold map of all of Japan in the back pocket. It is complemented by 5 other multi-fold and nicely colored maps bound into the text (Eastern Japan, Central Japan, Western Japan, Northern Japan and Kyushu and outlying islands). Extensive section with 93 pages of ads at the back Advertisements are often illustrated and several have halftone pictures. The advertisements in this edition are significantly more (x2) than found in editions to follow. Inside the front cover is a Charles Scribner's Sons ad for the Baedeker's Guide Books. A excellent outline/guide of Japan for the traveler in Japan. Includes one and one half pages on Luchu (Okinawa & Ryukyu Islands).
