Ogawa, K. (Kazumasa) Excursion Photographs, Tokyo, K. Ogawa, 1915 (Taisho 4) March, April & May, Numbers Vol. 2, Nos. 6,7,8, large 8vo (11 3/4 x 8 1/2 in - 30 x 21.5 cm), horizontal format reading Japanese style from back to front, paper wraps with covered string tie and spine cover, two file holes in right margin, text in Japanese, numerous full page illustrations printed in letter press color halftone, letter press halftone black and white, black and white photogravure and black and white collotypes. Each issue begins with a full color haftone plate. At the mid-point in the publication there is a multi-page foldout panoramic collotype view, plates have extensive Japanese language descriptive text as well as a short English title. Each issue has 23-24 full page plates, some printed on one side of the plate only and some printed on both sides of the plate. At approximately the 1/3 point there are two pages of text in Japanese, printed front and back on low quality newspaper stock paper. The journals are housed in an orginal binder with leather (faux?) covered boards embossed with an alligator skin pattern and imprinted with the same illustration as found on the front of each issue. The inside of the binder boards are covered with a paper illustration. This is a monthly world travel journal. While the scenes are predominately Japanese, other countries are covered. I can find no record of it in the World Catalogue or on the iNet, aside from this unit. The presumed starting date is October 1913 (1:1) and ran through September 1914 (1:12). It appears that Volume 2 (2:1) started with October, 1914. That would be consistent with 2:6 (March 1915), 2:7 (April 1915) and 2:8 (May 1915), which are the issues in this unit.
