"Flat Gum" - No Gum Breaker Ridges

This is a block of 4 of Scott 631 - "Without gum breaker ridges" as noted and priced in Scott. Rotary plate (19 1/4 x 22 1/2+ mm). On the gum side of the bottom two stamps the following is written lightly in pencil "Flat Gum - Herman Herst, Jr." While I can not guarantee that Mr. Herst wrote the notation, I can confirm the stamps do not have gum ridges ("flat gum"). The top stamps are hinged with hinge remnants remaining. The bottom two stamps are never hinged. A MNH Block of 4 of 631 with gum ridges is included with this lot for reference.
